How to choose a digital marketing agency in the Midwest

What to decide before you call, which questions separate one firm from another, and why each of the 13 digital marketing agencies on this list is here. Each was checked against its own site and at least one independent source. Nobody pays to be ranked.

What you are hiring

A digital marketing agency, on this list, runs search, paid media, email and analytics as one program. The point of one firm is a single plan, not four logins and a monthly PDF that nobody owns.

The fit is bad when you only need one channel. Pay a specialist for that. The fit is good when the channels have to agree with each other and someone has to decide what to stop.

Decide this before you call

Write these down before you talk to a digital marketing agency. A vague brief produces a vague price.

  • Name the one number you want moved, and the channels you believe affect it.
  • Say what is already running, including in-house work and other agencies.
  • Separate management fees from media spend in the brief.
  • Decide who inside your company can change the site, the offer and the tracking.

Questions worth asking

Ask each firm the same list. The useful part is the difference in the answers, not a polished version of the question.

  • Which channel would you refuse if it did not fit this business?
  • Who owns the analytics, and what is broken in the current tracking?
  • How do you decide that a channel is not working, and how fast do you stop it?
  • What is the fee, what is the media, and what production is extra?
  • What does the monthly report change about next month's work?

Hiring in the Midwest

the Midwest covers several states. Firms in different states can all belong on this list and still differ on price, travel and who shows up. State and city pages count where the listed firms are based. They do not rank cities.

A region named on a homepage is not the same thing as an office in your city. Use the city and state on the profile.

What this list shows

11 of 13 name a leader. 12 of 13 name at least one client. 1 of 13 publish a price. If a profile leaves a line out, no source stated it.

How to use this list

Write the job in one paragraph. Keep the two or three firms whose reason for being here matches that job.

Open each profile. It says who leads the firm, work they can show, and a price if they published one. If they did not publish a price, the profile shows a typical estimate and says it is not a quote.

Then ask each firm for one piece of work like yours, and the name of the person who would do it.

The order weighs how long the firm has done the work, clients it can name, its size, and how clear its specialism is. Nobody pays to be ranked.

One card is marked Featured. It is paid placement for Fracs, which shares this list's publisher. It sits outside the ranking.

If a profile leaves out a leader, a price, or a founding year, no source stated it.

Firms on this list

By place

These pages group firms that share a city or a state on this list. A place with one listed firm links from the comparison page straight to that firm's profile.

Free · no obligation

Describe the job. One digital marketing agency writes back.

Tell us what you sell, what is not working, and what done looks like. We read it and ask one provider — from this list, or from the publisher’s bench — to contact you within a business day. Asking is free. You do not have to hire them. Nobody else gets what you wrote.

When

Sending shares what you wrote with the one provider we match you to. How that works.
